More Than Just A Poodle Breeder

Hi my name is Adrienne Law and our family of five has two passions. One is being involved in helping people and the other is a passion for dogs. We all are invested in local community groups in various ways and we strive to bring our best in all that we do.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State (Positivetherapyservices.com) located in Stony Brook, NY in Suffolk County Long Island. Through many years of research, working with other breeders throughout our country and with our veterinarian, we have been able to put together a Moyen Parti Poodle breeding program we are very excited to introduce you to.

Our family first fell in love with Moyen Parti Poodles long before we added one to our family. I was searching for a second family dog. We wanted to have a pure bred hypo-allergenic dog, due to our family’s history with dog allergies. We were looking for a breed that was known for their intelligence, affection, playfulness, trainability and a breed that met our family’s activity level that could be very active to times of just enjoying being home.

We also wanted a dog breed that has been around long enough that the information on a breed would help us make the right choice in choosing a dog that was right for our family. And this is when we fell in love with the Moyen Parti Poodles.

We always thought of poodles as being fussy, shaved down with a distinct poodle look and stuffy. We couldn’t have been farther from the truth in that idea. Poodles are considered to be the second smartest dog in the canine world, as well as active, affectionate, easy to train and a dog that loves to be with their family members. Plus, the parti poodle was not only the original poodle color, but they are stunning in their amazing and unique markings and colors.

In searching for a puppy, I came across an amazing breeder who not only helped me find the perfect puppy for our family but was able to listen to my life long dream of becoming a breeder. After working with this breeder who now holds a special place in my heart as well as being my mentor in this endeavor, our family was able to create this beautiful breeding program that is also a part of my counseling and community outreach.

We live on the North Shore of Long Island, NY, just outside of Port Jefferson Village. My family loves everything Long Island has to offer which includes a passion for dogs, beaches, four seasons, hiking, fishing, water sports, great restaurants, close proximity to New York City, historical towns on the North Shore and South Shores of Long Island, and so much more.

My main concern as a breeder is to ensure that all of our puppies are placed in truly wonderful loving and safe homes. Homes that will take the best care of a dog and enjoy life fully committed to loving their puppy throughout their dog’s life. At New York Parti Poodles, we want our puppy families to provide every opportunity to make their dog a central part of their family and life.

We are a small breeding program that truly loves Moyen Parti Poodles. Because we are an active family we wanted our dogs to have great temperaments and health, as well as being a great size for anyone looking for a dog that was not too small nor too large for their lifestyle.

Having Moyen sized poodles has allowed us to easily make our dogs part of most of our daily lives. We love bringing our dogs with us whenever possible, which includes car rides to and from, playing in our backyard, some errands where places are dog friendly, walking in our neighborhood or local trails, beaches, New York City or just relax at home.

The Moyen Parti Poodles we breed are between 15-20” at the shoulder and weigh between 20-30 lbs. We didn’t want our program to have inconsistencies in sizes, so all of our dogs are only bred with other similar Moyen sized dogs. Some breeders will breed a standard sized poodle with a miniature poodle in attempts to downsize their dogs. We did not want to breed this way, as we wanted to have a consistent range in health, height, weight, temperament, energy, and excellent physical structure without any parts being out of proportion. This has allowed us to have dependable predictability in our Moyens.

Parti Poodles means that 50% of each dog is white and the other 50% is colored. We breed first for health and temperament, then for size and color. Our dogs are cleared of any diseases that pertain to poodles and have also been tested for colors that can be produced depending on pairing.

Our Moyens produce the most amazing looking poodles you have seen and will surely replace the image most people have of poodles, just like our initial thoughts. Our Moyens are kept in a short cut to make their coats easy to take care of yet have some fluff to give them their puppy look for life. Although, it is fun with all of the variety you can have your Moyen poodle trimmed as: teddy bear, lion, lamb, puppy, etc.

Our litters will have a diverse parti mix including: Blue Merle, Brown Merle, Brown and White, Phantom Colored, Black and White, and Tri-Colored. We are so excited to see each litters color patterns. And with each litter comes anticipation of each puppy’s uniqueness.

Our solid breeding program, incorporates Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Integration (ESI). We follow the Puppy Culture Program as well as The Badass Breeders Guide.

Following AKC, our puppies will be exposed to a variety of people and situations before going home. Starting on day 3 to the 16th day of the puppy’s life, each puppy will be individually handled and exposed to tactile stimulation, held several different ways that follow ENS protocol, and exposed to thermal stimulation.

ENS is believed to impact the neurological system by kicking it into action earlier and there are 5 benefits to ENS, including: cardio vascular performance, stronger heart beats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease. ENS was actually developed through the US Military designed to improve the performance of future military working dogs. To learn more, please see How We Raise Our Puppies.

We want our puppies to grow into the best version of themselves so they will feel confident, can easily socialize with others, be of sound mind and not timid. After ENS, the puppies emotional and social growth continues as they will be exposed to new sounds, textures, toys, and activities, including potty training.

We follow a program called “Puppy Culture” that incorporates ENS as well as exposure to different people, sounds, handling, and objects to allow for a puppy who is confident and well prepared to grow up and live in their real world environment. This is so important as this all impacts a dog’s world view, their interactions, confidence and having positive interactions with people and their world.

With exposure to the world, in a controlled and safe environment, puppies develop confidence and are desensitized to new situations. All making a puppy ready to take on their new world in your home where learning continues!
